猴子捞月英语小故事
Once upon a time, in a lush jungle far away, there lived a group of mischievous monkeys. They loved to play and explore the world around them. One bright moonlit night, as they were frolicking near a calm pond, one curious little monkey spotted something peculiar.
"Look!" he exclaimed, pointing at the shimmering reflection of the moon in the water below. "The moon has fallen into the pond! We must save it!"
The other monkeys gathered around, peering curiously at the sparkling surface. Without hesitation, the leader of the troop, an older and wiser monkey, decided to take action. He climbed onto a sturdy branch hanging over the water and lowered himself carefully, extending his long tail to reach for the moon.
But no matter how hard he tried, the moment he touched the surface, the "moon" shattered into countless ripples. The little monkeys gasped in surprise. "What happened? Where did the moon go?" they cried out.
The wise old monkey chuckled softly. "Do not worry, my friends," he said. "The moon is still up in the sky. What we saw was just its reflection in the water. It is not real."
The young monkeys looked up at the sky, where the full moon shone brightly, casting its light across the tranquil waters. They realized their mistake but laughed heartily at their own foolishness.
From that day on, whenever the monkeys visited the pond, they would look up at the moon first before trying to save it. And though they never forgot the fun of their adventure, they also learned an important lesson: sometimes, what seems real may only be a reflection of something greater.
And so, the monkeys continued to live happily in their jungle home, always remembering the night they tried to "save the moon."
