Tom put on his shoes and went outside. He walked down the street and saw a cat sitting on a bench. The cat looked sleepy. Tom said, “Hello, cat!”

The cat opened one eye and said, “Hello, Tom.”

Tom was surprised. “You can talk?” he asked.

The cat nodded. “I can speak English. I’m your friend.”

Tom laughed. “That’s cool!”

Then the cat said, “Let’s go find some fun together.”

So they walked through the park. They saw a duck swimming in the pond. The duck said, “Hi, Tom!”

Tom said, “Hi, duck!”

The duck swam closer and said, “Do you want to ride on my back?”

Tom climbed onto the duck’s back. The duck swam around the pond, and Tom had so much fun.

After that, the cat and the duck took Tom to see a rabbit. The rabbit was eating a carrot. “Hello,” the rabbit said.

“Hi,” Tom said.

The rabbit smiled and said, “Come and eat with me.”

Tom sat down and ate a carrot too. It was delicious!

At the end of the day, Tom went home. He told his mom about his adventure with the cat, the duck, and the rabbit.

His mom said, “That sounds like a wonderful day!”

Tom smiled and said, “It was the best day ever!”

And from that day on, Tom always remembered the special friends he made in the park.
