My mother said that cleaning the house could sweep away bad luck and welcome good fortune. I also helped my parents prepare food. We made dumplings, which are very popular during the Spring Festival. On the eve of the Spring Festival, we had a big dinner together. All the family members came back home. There were many delicious dishes on the table, such as fish, chicken, and noodles. We ate, laughed, and talked about the past year. After dinner, we watched the Spring Festival Gala on TV. It was full of wonderful performances, like songs, dances, and magic shows. I enjoyed watching it very much.
During the Spring Festival, I visited my relatives and friends. I went to my aunt's house and played with my cousin. We played games, ate snacks, and told stories. I also went to the park with my parents. There were many people there, and the streets were decorated with red lanterns and flowers. The air was filled with the smell of fireworks and the sound of laughter. It was a very lively atmosphere.
One of the most exciting parts of the Spring Festival is the firework show. On the night of the first day of the new year, my father took me to watch the fireworks.
